As a courtesy to our members we are providing the link for this upcoming event hosted by the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Area Judges Council and Laurel Highlands Area Judges Council. Featuring special entertainment by the Hanna's Town Re-enactors with actual court hearings from the period.

Where: Greensburg Garden and Civic Center
Time: 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
Be part of this wonderful event as we release 250 butterflies into the LeFevre Butterfly Garden. Butterflies are complimentary but you MUST CALL the office to reserve your butterfly with a credit card. Your CC will NOT be charged unless you do not attend the Butterfly Release.
Butterfly wands will be available to purchase for your butterfly to land on - plus butterfly theme items will be for sale in our pop-up shop.
Hot Dogs and Snow Cones will also be offered for a delicious lunch and cool snack.
Did you know... Butterflies are attracted to the color YELLOW and they also luv the scent of vanilla. Just sayin...
This is a magical day of butterflies and flowers. Be sure to attend this event you, your children and your grandchildren will always remember.

A bus trip is planned to Longwood Gardens in Brandywine, PA on Friday,
August 28th. It is about a 5 hour drive – but well worth the journey - Especially in summer when the flowers are in full bloom!
Longwood Gardens is considered one of the BEST gardens in America offering 1100 acres of horticultural beauty. They have recently opened a new conservatory and re-opened the lily pad pond. In addition there are spectacular fountain shows, the Bell Tower and pond, the Italian water garden and the Tree house. All surrounded by fabulous flowers and trees on acres of land. Trouble walking? Scooters are available to rent.
Longwood Gardens offers 3 on-site options for lunch (on your own – not included in the trip cost) at either the elegant restaurant: 1906 (reservations recommended) or Enjoy a à la carte menu at the The Café suitable for the whole family (no reservations required) OR Dine alfresco with family and friends at the Beer Garden (no reservations required.)
The bus will make a dinner stop on the way home around 6:30 PM. Dinner is also on your own, and not included in the trip cost

"Get Your Game Face ON" The 3rd annual card and game day is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 16. 2026 from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Collect your friends and bring along your favorite game to enjoy a wonderful afternoon with friends.
Tickets will be $35 which includes lunch and door prizes. Call the office to reserve a seat or bring a bunch of friends and reserve a table.

On June 1st we kicked off a campaign to raise money for new plants needed in the LeFevre Butterfly Garden Expansion.
The individual plants ranges from $50 – $300
with the total cost expected to be $3,500.
While that seems like a lot, just think... if 100 members give $25 each we will have $2,500 of the needed funds. We are hopeful you will contribute any amount towards the. completion of the LFBG. Contributions may be given in the memory of a loved one, or given anonymously. All contributors will be recognized in the WGC newsletter. . Giving levels are noted by Native plants.
So far we've had $1,420 in donation!

$76 – $150 BUTTON BUSH LEVEL
$151 – $250 DOGWOOD LEVEL
$251 & ABOVE – BIRCH TREE LEVEL

One day special tours to Public Gardens, Flower Shows, members gardens, and other destinations.

Historical houses, Public buildings and churches decorated by local florists/designers for the holidays and other events. So much fun for all!

Join us for our hands-on design workshop. Have fun learning to design a bird bath, garden ornaments such as cement leaves or Hypertufa pots while making new friends .
