Thank you to our sponsors and everyone in the community for supporting the 2026 WGC butterfly release - and to all the volunteers that helped make the day a success. We released 250 butterflies into the LeFevre Butterfly Garden. Butterflies were fluttering around to the delight of everyone!!
And thank you to the clouds for not raining on our event!!

A bus trip is planned to Longwood Gardens in Brandywine, PA on Friday,
August 28th. It is about a 5 hour drive – but well worth the journey - Especially in summer when the flowers are in full bloom!
Longwood Gardens is considered one of the BEST gardens in America offering 1100 acres of horticultural beauty. They have recently opened a new conservatory and re-opened the lily pad pond. In addition there are spectacular fountain shows, the Bell Tower and waterfall into the large pond, the Italian water garden and the Tree house. All surrounded by fabulous flowers and trees on acres of land. Trouble walking? Scooters are available to rent.
Longwood Gardens offers 3 on-site options for lunch (on your own – not included in the trip cost) Enjoy a à la carte menu at the The Café suitable for the whole family (no reservations required) OR Dine alfresco with family and friends at the Beer Garden (no reservations required) For a special dining experience enjoy the elegant restaurant: 1906 (reservations recommended)
The bus will make a dinner stop on the way home around 6:30 PM. Dinner is also on your own, and not included in the trip cost

"Get Your Game Face ON" The 3rd annual card and game day is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 16. 2026 from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Gather your friends and bring along your favorite game to enjoy a wonderful afternoon.
Tickets will be $35 which includes lunch and door prizes. Call the office to reserve a seat or bring a bunch of friends and reserve a table!

Join us for the Annual Monthly 'Meeting Out' at Rizzo's Malabar Restaurant in Crabtree. Our guest Speaker will be Nick Stahlman from the Audubon Society speaking about Birds of Prey.
There will also be a wide array of beautiful raffle baskets available to win. In addition we will draw the winning ticket in the restaurant raffle. Everyone is welcome - Members and non-members.
This is always a fun afternoon of delicious food, friends and prizes. Get your tickets now by contacting the WGC office.
On June 1st we kicked off a campaign to raise money for new plants needed in the LeFevre Butterfly Garden Expansion.
The individual plants ranges from $50 – $300
with the total cost expected to be $3,500.
Thank you to everyone that has donated to the garden fund! Donations are welcome from businesses and organizations – or by anyone in the community that would like to add beauty to this wonderful garden - not just WGC members. Donations are tax deductible and may be given in the memory of a loved one, or given anonymously. All contributors will be recognized in the WGC newsletter. Giving levels are noted by Native plants.
So far we've had $3,100 in donation!

$151 – $250 DOGWOOD LEVEL

Historical houses, Public buildings and churches decorated by local florists/designers for the holidays and other events. So much fun for all!

Join us for our hands-on design workshop. Have fun learning to design a bird bath, garden ornaments such as cement leaves or Hypertufa pots while making new friends .
