WGC sponsors a variety of events and fundraiser throughout the year including:
Bus Trips, Garden Tours, Flower Shows, Spring Tea, Autumn Home Showcase, Christmas Greens Sale, and of course, the wonderful Butterfly Release in August.

Save the date July 19th for the biennial Member's Garden Tour when participating hosts will open their gardens to the public. This year we have Nine beautiful gardens for you to visit!!
This is a great way to spend the day meeting talented gardeners, and experiencing their green spaces. It’s also an ideal way to get new ideas and learn about plants and gardening techniques.
Tickets will be sold directly from the Westmoreland Garden Council office, open Tuesday's and Thursday's from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
DAY OF THE TOUR - Tickets will be available in the WGC Office at the Greensburg Civic Center from 9:30 - 11:30 AM
Ticket price is $25.00 in advance or $30.00 on the day of the tour.

Summer is here bringing the annual W.G.C. Monarch Butterfly release. Held in the beautiful Le Fevre Butterfly garden, this magical afternoon is fun for the entire family!
There are two releases: the first is at 11:00 AM and the second release is held at 1:00 PM.
The butterflies are free but MUST BE RESERVED with a $5 credit card deposit to ensure your butterflies are waiting for your arrival.
You will not be charged unless you fail to attend the Saturday butterfly release.
By reserving your butterfly with a credit card deposit we confirm your attendance guaranteeing that all butterflies have a ‘sponsor’.
There will be a short, lively, educational presentation by Renatta Marino of Westmoreland Theatre Company.
After the program, we will distribute the reserved butterflies to release on cue!!. Then, together we will release our fluttering butterflies into the garden. An amazing experience, to be sure!
There will be plenty to see and enjoy:
1. Buy a flower wand to coax a Monarch butterfly to land for an up-close visit.
2. Indulge in delicious Hot dogs and butterfly cookies that will tempt your palate.
3. Shop novelty butterfly items for the little ones in our fun pop-up shop.
4. Enjoy a cool Free drink donated by Turner's Dairy. (Thanks Turner's !)
5. Find bargains in our garden fleatique offering gently used garden related items for resale.
6. Learn more about butterflies in our educational exhibit and butterfly books on display inside the Garden House.
7. Watch as the Monarch larva happily munch milkweed in one of our troughs.
8. Take a picture with your family on the butterfly bench.
This event is a summertime ‘must’! Bring the kids and the grandkids for this magical and educational experience they will remember for a lifetime.

Again, we are proud and honored to announce that 250 butterflies will be provided by the Second Chance Fund, courtesy of the Sherid family, in memory of Fred and Kimberly Cecchini.

This is the area’s most intriguing display of cars, both American and
foreign, plus an extensive display of memorabilia in a private setting.
Listen to a presentation about how this collection of unique vehicles has been acquired and why the owner embarked on this mission.

The fabulous WGC Christmas Sale 2025 is being planed for BEFORE THANKSGIVING THIS YEAR.
The WGC Christmas sale offers one-of-a-kind Teacher gifts, Hostess gifts and much more, all beautifully displayed in traditional, elegant, or rustic styles – at fabulous prices!
In addition we offer a wide variety of fresh greens and garlands that can be pre-ordered, plus pre-decorated faux trees, wreaths and so much more!
The Greensburg Civic center halls and WGC Office will be decorated throughout November with sale items ready to purchase for those who decorate early. First come – first serve.

SAVE THE DATE – Plans are being made for a Christmas house tour. So far, we have 4 incredible homes to tour, each one unique. Three will be decked out in holiday splendor by the owners. The fourth will be decorated by us, WGC.
All décor will be available for purchase.
We are very excited about this tour as we know you will be inspired with ideas to decorate your own home, plus it will really put you in the holiday spirit!!
