*Wassail is a traditional English alcoholic beverage, typically enjoyed during the Christmas season, with origins in a festive ritual involving singing and toasting to the health and prosperity of the household. Traditionally, wassail is made with a base of hard cider or ale, spiced with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger. It's often served warm and may include ingredients like apples, oranges, and other fruits. Recipes vary, with some versions including brandy, bourbon, or other spirits. It's a warming and festive drink, perfect for cold weather.
